Urethra comparison

A Male urethra is close around 20 cm in length compared to the 4 cm length of a female. Males urethra is a dual threat having 2 uses where in a female it only has one use.

Accessory organs

  • Ureter connects kidney and bladder where contractions move urine into bladder.
  • Bladder holds the urine with a mucosa valve to prevent back flow of urine.
  • Urethra tube extending from bladder that removes urine from body.

Urine formation

Kidneys filter wastes produced from blood . Water, salts, and other substances make filtrate that travels thru tubules making urine.

Urine (excretion and properties)

Urine is 95% water and 5% solutes.
It is slightly acidic.
The glomerular filtrate moves nutrients in the excretion process.

After the body takes all the usable nutrients, the wastes are removed from the body thru the Urinary System.
